Can not travel to Chicago without stopping at Lou Malnati’s. I can honestly say I do not care for the carry out options. I love sitting down with one of their deep dish pizzas and a tall cold beer. Can not be better.
I wanted to try the hot honey pizza so only got a small, just in case I didn't like it but getting the crust well done. It was so nice and crispy, very tasty! Perfect amount of spice and sweet.
I first had Lou Malnati's deep dish pizza in November 2020, and Prior to this time Giordano's had been my favorite deep dish pizza. Lou Malnati's quickly put Giordano's into the number two slot. In November 2021 I met my son at Lou's in the North Center neighborhood of Chicago. He recommended deep dish so I agreed. For me it was love at first bite! From that moment Giordano's was moved down to number two. Since I'm the southwest I began patronizing Lou's in Palos Heights and I have not been disappointed.
I recently got delivery from this location. I wasn’t aware when placing the order that it would be delivered by DoorDash. Didn’t think much of it til I got the delivery. Half the toppings had slid to one side. I’m giving this location a 5 still because what I was able to salvage was still really good! Furthermore, it wasn’t necessarily the stores fault for the way the pizza showed up. I did fill out the feedback survey with my experience and pictures. I received an email within the hour from General Manager, Mark Rodonis, with a sincere apology which goes a long way. Thank you Mark and team!
For the ultimate Lou Malnati's experience, I strongly recommend ordering the large deep dish uncut pizza with a special twist: request it to be buttered crust/uncut - topped with four times the amount of cheese crumbled sausage and mushrooms. Gluten free, crustless option is delicious! The sausage "crust" was sturdy and crispy on the bottom, then filled with cheese, fresh marinara, and my veggie toppings. A little expensive, but not a deterrent. Great staff, friendly and helpful.
It was my first time at Lou Malnatis Pizzeria in Palos Heights. I enjoyed the decorations. The space was clean, and the staff was really helpful and friendly. The beef sandwich was outstanding. Definitely, I will be coming back!!! Thank you for suggesting sauces for the salad. It will be tmrws lunch. Yummy!
